It's Iceman Week: See You At Make It Stick!

It might just be our favorite week of the year. This Saturday is the 30th edition of the Bell’s Iceman Cometh Challenge, the largest point-to-point mountain bike race in North America! The best part? It’s right here in our backyard. That makes it really easy to get the whole Keen team together to race and to support the 5,000 racers making the 30 mile march from Kalkaska to Traverse City. For yet another year, we’re setting up shop at Make It Stick!, a remote, challenging section of the course located roughly at the halfway point. It’s also a the top of a steep, slick, grinding climb that winds around a long ridgeline. We set up speakers and a full drum kit, and riders can hear the loud, constant drumming for a good five minutes before they reach us. It’s like something out of a dream, the noise getting louder and louder as they get closer and closer! While we’ll have plenty of people planted at Make It Stick, we’ve also got a big contingent of Keen teammates and clients taking the start line. Some of us are gunning for the honor of being the first to Timber Ridge, while others are simply hoping to finish, we’re all in this for the right reasons. We treasure the experience of being in the woods with so many people that share our passion for mountain biking and natural spaces. It’s this community and lifestyle that we work so hard to protect. This Saturday, November 2, make an effort to get up to Timber Ridge and see what truly is a world-class event right in Traverse City. While you’re there, cheer on the many riders who have come from across the Midwest to celebrate bikes, the woods, and great beer, and make sure you keep an eye out for our roster of racers!Tim Pulliam Marc BrunetteMike Powers Greg Zenn Danielle MooreJesse Bacon Bobby Rennekamp TJ BrownSean Tower Kevin WhislerMarty ReikinDusin MelliosMike Ostrom
