2021 Less Cancer Bike Ride Kicks Off June 5!

We are back on the road. For the sixth year, Keen Technical Solutions is proud to be a part of the Less Cancer Bike Ride! Every one of us has been touched by cancer, either in ourselves or in a friend or family member. We know how painful a diagnosis, treatment, and even loss can feel. Cancer affects millions of families in the US each year. In 2021, experts expect to see over 1.9 million cancer diagnoses in the US, with over 600,000 people ultimately losing the fight. As families struggle with access to care, the financial burden of treatment, and the long-term effects of both on their lives and the lives of their families, we believe that prevention needs to be a priority. Prevention is more accessible, less monetary hardship, and leads to myriad other benefits in quality of life and overall health. Less Cancer, a non-profit that provides education for healthcare professionals, programs, and informs legislators of cancer prevention measures and issues, relies on the Less Cancer Bike Ride America as one of its biggest fundraisers of the year. Instead of a single ride, this year’s events will include individuals and small group rides all over the country, from Utah to Virginia and right here in Traverse City. Less Cancer is asking that groups follow the advice and guidelines of their local health departments. It may also be a good idea to restrict your ride to smaller groups or those who have received their full vaccination from COVID-19. Here in Traverse City, we’re spoiled for choice when it comes to choosing a place to ride, but as has become the tradition, we’ll head out into beautiful Leelanau County with a number of our pals. Many in our group have enjoyed the Less Cancer Ride in its various forms for many years, and for us, it has become the official start of summer. No matter how far you ride, how fast you ride, or where you ride, we hope you’ll make an effort to join us in pedaling the path to prevention.
