Commongrounds Solar Project

Commongrounds does things differently. The organization is Northern Michigan’s first real estate cooperative, creating a centered place of community in the heart of Traverse City. Its unique approach puts added emphasis on having a positive impact on the community, and that includes sustainability. Commongrounds chose Keen Technical Solutions to install on-site, energy-generating solar power to control their energy environment like few organizations can.

The Project

Commongrounds is ideally positioned to capture generous sun, and we were able to install a solar panel array on a substantial portion of the facility’s rooftop. Keen’s energy consultants sourced the right equipment, helped Commongrounds find, apply for, and utilize applicable grants and rebates, and installed the entire system with minimal operation interruptions.

The Results

This PV system will generate 40,198kWh annual production, reducing energy costs and ensuring Commongrounds is powered sustainability. That energy generation is equivalent to saving over 3,100 gallons of gasoline or preserving 33 acres of trees.

Keen is committed to helping Northern Michigan businesses meet their sustainability commitments. From HVAC to solar, we’re your partner for energy efficiency and on-site generation.
